On the 15th of June 2016, Elders Limited announced that both Elders Ordinary Shares (ASX: ELD) and Elders Hybrids (ASX: ELDPA) are to undergo a trading halt effective immediatly. Elders expects to facilitate a capital raising to fund the on-market purchase of its hybrid securities. Currently no purchase amount has been specified by the group but there is speculation the capital raising will generate $100 million.
On the 18th of August 2015, Elders Finance Pty Ltd acquired 375,000 hybrid securities. As a result, there are currently 1,125,000 hybrid securities on issue in free market (not held by Elders).
